Adult-friendly services
Our adult-friendly services are provided to our guests over the age of 14 for a magical holiday experience:
Quiet wellness: Quiet wellness for guests above 14 years of age, between 08:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. and between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. every day, all year round; during this time, the Bambara Spa is reserved exclusively for the recreation of our adult guests (except for public school holidays and festive periods).

Our Dogon Sauna Park can be used by children under 14 years of age with parental supervision all year round.

Star Restaurant: Our child-free restaurant provides undisturbed and romantic atmosphere for our guests who arrive without children.

Sahel Panorama Wellness: In the attic, the child-free relaxation area of the Sahel Wellness enchants our guests and the couples who wish to “recharge their batteries” with its forest atmosphere.

Outdoor Giant Jacuzzi: The Giant Jacuzzi of the adventure pool, surrounded by the forest, offers experience only to adults (except for the summer holidays).

Free daily African programs

A ’la carte meal
A ’la carte meals are available in our San Toro Restaurant from 12 a.m. until 10 p.m. every day. Please note that we can accept your last order 30 minutes before closing.

Arrival
You can occupy your room from 3 p.m. on the day of your arrival. You can use our Bambara Spa and Sahel Wellness services on the day of arrival from 12 am free of charge.

Babysitting
Babysitting is available for extra charge and with previous booking (minimum 2 hours). For more information, please contact the Reception. Our animators provide babysitting; the times are indicated on our current children’s program.

Baby equipment
Our basic equipment up to 2 years of age: baby bed, baby bedding, baby bathtub, diaper bin.
Our basic equipment up between 2 and 6 years of age: stepper, toilet reducer.
Upon request, we will prepare the following equipment for you in the room: high chair, kettle, baby food warmer, potty, anti-slip, diaper changer, blind plug. Please contact our Reception colleagues.

Bathrobe, spa towel, sauna sheet
The room’s price includes the use of bathrobes and room towels, which are placed in your room based on the number of guests that were indicated when the room was booked. On the day of departure, please leave them in your room, on the bed. Bathrobes for children are provided at the Bambara Spa Reception against deposit. Spa towels and sauna sheet will be given at the Bambara Spa Reception in exchange for the wellness cards you have received on arrival. On the day of departure, please return the textiles and please give the wellness card, together with the room card to the receptionist. The bath towel is provided for daily use, while the sauna sheet is changed free of charge, several times a day.

Bathroom towel
The towels are placed in your bathroom. If you would like to change your towels, please leave them on the bathroom floor.

Bank, ATM
There is a Hungarian bank branch and ATM in Felsőtarkany. It is called Takarekszovetkezet.

Banquet, conference, event
Our conference room (size: 330 square meters) is well equipped with up-to-date technology, thereby provides an excellent venue for business and private events alike. The conference room can be divided into five sectional rooms. The restaurant and the conference room can be interconnected, so 550 square meters of event space can be created. In case of any kind of event, please contact our sales department.

Bar
• The Kroko Bar and the Bar Separe in the hotel’s lobby wait for our Guests from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. every day. • The Dogon Spa bar ( from May to October the Beach bar), located in the Spa, is open from 10 am until 6 pm every day. • You can order meals from 12 a.m. until 9.30 p.m. at Kroko Bar and at Dogon and Mali Beach Bar from 12 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. every day. • Dress code: We ask you to always appear in proper clothing, suitable for the occasion, in the various areas of our hotel. Kroko Bar: In the area of our Kroko bar, please do not wear bathing suits and bathrobes after 6:00 p.m.

Beauty treatments
For more information about beauty treatments and to make appointments, please contact the Sahel Wellness (1131) or the Bambara Spa Reception from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Bed mattress and bedding
Antiallergic and organic Billerbeck mattres set provide you paeceful relaxation. We provide for our guests premium quality Dodo duoble feather blanket and Billerbeck feaither pilow. The extra pillow and blanket can be found in the room’s wardrobe. If you require any other type of pillow, please inform our colleagues at the Reception. After two nights, our colleagues will change your bed linen during the daily cleaning. If you would like to replace your bed linen every day, please inform our collegues at the Reception.

Bike rental
You may get your rented bicycles at the hotel Reception. We offer tours of various length and difficulty, which lead you to the special natural values of the surrounding countryside. For more information, please contact the Reception.

Billiard room
On the ground floor opposite the meerkat courtyard, the Banana billiard room offers the adults more fun for an extra charge. For information about the equipment and table reservations, please contact the Reception staff. Opening hours: from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Bizsu and Zserbó
Our hotel’s mascots are: Bizsu (Bijou), the meerkat and Zserbo (Gerbeaud), the kangaroo. Every day, between 10:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., one of our mascots asks our kid guests to dance in the Kroko Bar. The small plush Bizsu and Zserbo toys are available from the gift hut, next to the Reception.

Blanket
We have placed blankets in the wardrobe of your room; if you need additional blankets, please inform the Reception.

Breakfast
Our half-board service: we offer buffet breakfast and buffet dinner, however, in order to keep distance, the main meals are arranged in two groups. You can choose from the following mealtimes on arrival: breakfast between 07:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. and dinner between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., or breakfast between 09:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and dinner between 8:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. We offer rich buffet breakfast, or, on request and for a fee, a la carte breakfast. We provide cold pack for our guests who leave early on the day of departure on request. Please inform the Reception the previous day.

Bus parking lot
We provide parking for buses in the area in front of the main entrance.

Bükk Theme Park
Bukk Theme Park provides an unforgettable adventure for the whole family. Who is going to be the courageous explorer, who is willing to go further to discover the secrets of the lost city of monkeys? Who will discover the secrets of the Bukk Theme Park? For more information about a visit to the park, please contact our colleagues at the Reception. The children can follow the life of the small kangaroos (Bennett’s wallabies) in the Monkey Yard, at the entrance to the Labyrinth Town every day.

Cardio corner
A fitness room is available for use between 08:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., free of charge, on the minus floor of the hotel.

Chair
Please indicate your bathroom chair demand at our Reception.

Child bed
Please note that crib, baby bedding set and room with extra bed are provided upon request, depending on our occupancy.

Children animation program
The Bizsu stamp hunting games provide an unforgettable adventure for the children each day, during their stay at Bambara. The program booklet is handed to the children at the Reception upon arrival.

Cooling/heating
Setting the heating / cooling in the rooms with a digital thermostat The room’s cooling / heating system can be controlled by the wall-mounted thermostat with LCD-display. It is switched on by the mode selector button on the left side under the thermostat’s display, which can be used to select the on/off and the heating/cooling mode. Below the display, the blower fan’s speed switch is found on the right. (“Automatic” is the recommended setting. It is not recommended to change the fan speed, because it only circulates the room’s air after reaching the set temperature. It does not heat/cool.) To set the desired temperature, please use the Up/Down arrows on the right side of the display. (The temperature on the display is only a reference; it may differ from the actual room temperature by 2 to 3 C°.) Attention! The heating/cooling function only works with closed doors and windows.

Cold pack
We provide cold pack instead of breakfast or supper for our guests who leave early or arrive late. Please indicate your need for a cold pack at the Reception minimum one day before your departure.

Copy, fax, print and scanning
Copying, printing, scanning and fax sending are available at the Reception for extra charge.

Credit card
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Amex cards, as well as SZEP cards.

Dress code
We ask you to always appear in proper clothing, suitable for the occasion, in the various areas of our hotel. Kroko Bar: In the area of our Kroko bar, please do not wear bathing suits and bathrobes after 6:00 p.m. San Toro Restaurant: In our San Toro Restaurant, wearing bathing suits and bathrobes is not allowed. After 6:00 p.m., please do not wear sports clothing and slippers here. Thanks for your understanding and kind cooperation.

Departure
Dear Guests, please leave your rooms until 11 a.m. on the day of departure. If you would like to stay longer, please contact the Reception previously. Late check-out option is provided for an extra charge, depending on the hotel’s occupancy. On the day of your departure, you can use our wellness area for a specified charge; please inform the Reception if you wish to use this option.

Doctor
If you would like to call the local doctor or ambulance, please ask for help at the Reception (1000).

Electric bike rental
We provide 4 e-bike for our guests for fee by advanced rental and with own risk. Please contact with the Reception for information.

Electric roller rental
We provide 4 e-roller for our guests for fee by advanced rental and with own risk. Please contact with the Reception for information.

Electric charging station
We provide charging station for our hotel guests during their stay. The charger is equipped with 4 Type2 connectors, which are suitable for the charging of four cars at the same time, for electric and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) cars with Type1 and Type2 connectors. If you wish to use it, please contact the hotel’s reception and use ALTE- GO app for fee.

Etiquette
• Please do not bring and consume any food and drink purchased outside the hotel, into the hotel’s area. In the Spa and Wellness areas, food and drink consumption is only allowed in the Bar area. • Please only reserve the loungers while you are staying in the Spa and Wellness area. Fishing is allowed at the forest lakes located 600 meters from the hotel building. For more information, please contact the Reception.

Fire
In case of fire, please call the Reception immediately and choose the nearest emergency exit. Do not use the elevator in case of fire.

Flower
If you would like to order flowers, please contact the Reception.

Gift shop
If you would like to purchase gifts with the Bambara Hotel logo or any other hotel object, and would like to take them home as a souvenir, you can choose from the stock of our gift hut at the Reception. Small and large bath towels, spa towels, adult and children bathrobes and sauna sheets with the Hotel Bambara logo can be purchased.
Colorful African souvenirs, authentic jewelry, souvenirs, children’s gifts, plush animals, cosmetics and bath clothing are on offer.
The gifts can be viewed in the lobby’s display cabinet.

Half board

Hair dryer
Hair dryer is in the bathroom, it works with a safety switch. There are also hair dryers in the dressing rooms of the Spa.

Hiking, tour routes
You can choose from several Bukk tour routes of various length and difficulty in Felsőtarkany. Please ask for information from our colleagues at the Recepction.

Horse riding
Karap Riding Farm offers horse riding services and riding lessons to children and adults, as well as country riding. For more information, please feel free to contact the Reception.

Hydromassage tub
Our guest rooms are equipped either with a shower or a bathtub. Please use the left-side button to switch on the jacuzzi function, and the right-side button to operate the hydromassage function (the intensity can be controlled with the air button in the middle). The drain and the hot and cold water taps are next to the shower tube’s connection, which can be opened in clockwise direction. The hydromassage function can only be switched on when the water level is at least 5 cm above the top of the hydro-massage jet nozzles and you sit in the tub. Before you get out of the tub, please turn off the massage function.

Information service
Our staff is available at the Reception 24 hours a day.

Internet
WiFi is available in the whole hotel building (in the rooms and community spaces) free of charge. Password is not required. There is a public and free internet counter on the 1st floor of the hotel with copy access. If you need a desktop computer in your room, please indicate your need at the reception.

Ironing services
If you need ironing services, please contact the Reception. Please note that the ironing service is available from 6 am to 8.30 pm for a fee, within 1 hour. An iron and ironing board are available for use, on request. If you wish to use them, please contact the hotel’s reception service.

IT help
If you need help in IT matters, please contact the hotel’s reception service.

Jungle Playhouse
The Jungle Playhouse is a place with slides and climbing frames for children between 3 and 8 years of age. The Jungle Playhouse’s opening hours: from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Kanaga Love room
As the Hotel’s special service, Kanaga Love Room is available between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., where private Jacuzzi, steam cabin and a four-poster bed wait for our guests who wish to enjoy a little romance.

Laundry
Laundry is not available in our hotel building. At your request, our partner laundry provides washing services for extra charge. Please indicate your demand until 9 a.m. at the Reception. We will return the clothes at the agreed time.

Mali Beach
You can enjoy the exceptional experience of the 3-level terraced pool’s many services in a beach mood, at the gates of the Bukk Mountains. It is just one step from the relaxing deckchairs and you can refresh yourself in the pools or play beach volleyball or badminton if you prefer active recreation.

Mango Fun-corner
The Mango Fun-corner is between the restaurant and the bar where the younger kids may find many exciting toys.

Manicure, pedicure
We provide special pedicure-manicure services with the premium products. The Sahara Beauty pedicuremanicure salon is located on the ground floor. If you would like to reserve an appointment, please contact the Sahel Wellness Reception (1131) or the Bambara Spa Reception (1126) from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Please note that the services are only available by prior appointment.

Matrix Club
The Matrix Club on the minus floor is the favorite of the teenagers where Xbox and table soccer are available. Game discs, board and card games can be requested at the Reception. The Matrix room is available for our child guests between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Massage services
We offer massages, spa treatments and massage rituals to our guests. During the massages and beauty rituals, we use the following special organic products: the Italian Gerard’s, the West-African Akoma, the exclusive La Sultana de Saba and the German Kurland products which offer special scents and sophisticated textures. You can find a detailed description of the services (the brochure can be found in the room’s information folder). If you would like to reserve an appointment, please contact the Reception of Sahel Wellness (1131) or Bambara Spa (1126) from 8 a.m. until 8 pm. Please note that the services are only available by prior appointment.

Minibar
There are soft drinks, alcoholic beverages and snacks in the room’s minibar that will be charged on your room after opening. The minibar is filled daily. On the day of departure, please inform the receptionist about your consumption.

Newspaper, magazine
Newspapers are available on the Kroko Bar’s counter and magazines at the Sahel Roof Wellness. After reading, please bring the newspapers and magazines back.

Parking lot
Our hotel building has an enclosed parking lot with 24-hour video surveillance. It is available free of charge. We kindly ask you to leave the roundabout next to the main entrance free.

Petrol station
The nearest petrol station is in Eger, next to the main road (No.25), 6 km from the Hotel.

Pharmacy
There is a pharmacy in Felsőtarkany. Please contact the Reception and ask for the opening hours.

Razor and shaving foam
Razor and shaving foam can be purchased at the Reception, together with other cosmetics.

Restaurant
San Toro Restaurant offers the specialties of the Hungarian and international cuisine from 12 a.m. until 10 p.m. Our half-board service: we offer buffet breakfast and buffet dinner, however, in order to keep distance, the main meals are arranged in two groups. You can choose from the following mealtimes on arrival: breakfast between 07:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. and dinner between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., or breakfast between 09:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and dinner between 8:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. We offer rich buffet breakfast, or, on request and for a fee, a la carte breakfast. Depending on our occupancy, we try to apply a seating arrangement in our restaurant. “Csillag” (Star) is a separate part of our restaurant only for adults. Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation. In our San Toro Restaurant, wearing bathing suits and bathrobes is not allowed. After 6:00 p.m., please do not wear sports clothing and slippers here. Thanks for your understanding and kind cooperation.

Room cleaning
Please be informed that our collegues clean your room from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you do not need room cleaning, please hang the „do not disturb” card on the handle of your rooms door. Please note that the daily cleaning services after 4 p.m. are provided for an extra charge.

Room key
You can enter your room with the room card you get at the Reception. The electric network will be activated if you put your room card into the holder next to the electric switch. Please return the room card to the Reception on the day of your departure.

Room reservation
You can contact the receptionists regarding your next stay in our Hotel; we are happy to make a prereservation for you.

Room safe
The room safe is on the wardrobe’s shelf. Please find the user’s manual next to the safe. The safe can be used with its own security code. We assume responsibility only for the valuables stored at the Reception.

Room service
We offer food and beverage service in your room according the Room service menu for fee. We fulfill your food order request between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., and your drink order request between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Safekeeping
All rooms have in-room safes, where you can store your valuables. There is a secure safe at the Reception; our hotel only assumes responsibility for the valuables received and put into the safe at the Reception.

Sahel Wellness

Sahel Wellness offers relaxation services between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. The roof terrace and the panoramic lounge area are real oasis for the body and the soul. In winter and summer, you can enjoy perfect relaxation. The Sahel Wellness services are not available for children under the age of 14. You can take advantage of the opportunities offered by the silent space: you can read, have a nap, and enjoy the sight of the forest. There is an outdoor panoramic sauna and a Jacuzzi at the roof level. Our massage rooms are also located here, where the Akoma, Gerard’s, La Sultana de Saba and Kurland Massage rituals help you to regenerate. The Sahel Wellness waits for our guests with fresh fruit, cookies and Dilmah tea specialties at 5 p.m. You have the option to use the Sahel Wellness after the opening hours (20 p.m.) for an extra charge. Please contact the Reception for more information.

Segway, monster buggy
Active recreation and great fun with our special vehicles. Flexible hiking trails in the areas around the Felsőtarkany Lake and in the surrounding forest; please discuss everything with our tour guide. For reservations and more information, please contact the Reception.

Sewing
If you need sewing, please contact the Reception. Sewing is completed from 8 am to 8 pm.

Shiraz Hotel****Superior

Shoe cleaning, shoe polishing service
You can find a shoe shine machine in the second floor’s lobby. Please contact the hotel’s reception if you need shoe cleaning.

Smoking
Please note that our entire hotel building is a non-smoking area. If you wish to smoke, please use the designated smoking area.

Slipper
We provide all of our adult guest the slippers for free at the room.

Special diet, food allergy
Please inform us of your food allergy, low-calorie diet, or special diet at the time of booking or on the day of your arrival at the Reception (1000).

Sunbed
Our guests may use for free the sunbeds around outdoor pools and in the Sáhel wellness. It is not possible to book or rent a bed. Our colleagues delete reserved and unused beds.

Taxi, transfer
If you need taxi services, please contact the Reception. If you need a private transfer service, please be informed that you may use with prior consultation with our external partner.

Technical service
In case of any technical problems, please inform the Reception.

Telephone
You can use the telephones (in the rooms) for internal and external calls in accordance with the user’s manual. All calls will be charged automatically on your room.

Television
Please note the already set television channels are available on your room TV. You can check the channels on the information sheet and on the television screen. All rooms are equipped with large SMART led television with straaming service. Please log out when you check-out, the Hotel no accept responsilibity.

Tooth brush and tooth paste
You can buy them at the Reception, together with other cosmetic products.

Umbrella
Umbrella is available at the Reception on request.

Wake-up call
Wake-up call is available free of charge. Please contact with the Reception.

Wellness and Spa (Bambara Spa)
Our Spa department waits for our guests from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. every day. The Bambara Spa evokes the atmosphere of a Dogon tribal village. Enjoy the multifunctional indoor and outdoor adventure and kids’ pools. The huge Jacuzzi of the 3-storey pool is available all year round. Try the unique and special salt brushwood hut, the organic herbarium hut, the salt spray steam cabin and the driftwood Finish sauna. Discover one of the many experiences of the unique cave bath. Enjoy one of the special sauna rituals with tea and fruit tasting several times a day to make your stay more memorable. The adventure showers are enriched with various aromatic fragrances.

Wellness extension
Our guest can use all of our Bambara Spa and Sahel wellness services between from 12.00 a.m. on the day of arrival free of charge. Our wellness services can be use on the day of departure until 11 a.m. free of charge. If you would like to use our wellness services on the day of arrival from 8.00 a.m. or when you departure till 8 p.m., you can do so for an extra wellness extension charge. You can use our luggage room, dressing cabinets (lockers) and we provide spa towels and sauna sheets for our guests. Please contact the Reception if you wish to use this service.

LEISURE-TIME ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS NEARBY
The close vicinity of Bambara Hotel offers a wide range of touristic opportunities for excursions, sightseeing, sports and bath programs.

Bükk Star Center
The Bükki Csillagda, the naturalist visitor center of the Bükki National Park Administration, is in the heart of the Bükki National Park, next to Répáshuta. It awaits visitors with many interesting sights and interactive experiences: for example, a world-class telescope suitable for observing the Sun, a planetarium, touchable meteorites, exciting virtual space trips and a learning trail await visitors.

The Rock spring and the forest lake
The Rock spring and the forest lake are situated in the northern part of Felsőtarkany, at the foot of the limestone cliff wall which frames the entrance of the inter-stone gorge. The karst spring is actually the same as the creek of the Lok Valley running in the South-Western Bukk, which gets to the surface again. The water of the Rock spring was dammed to create a lake in the 18th century. The beautifully landscaped area of the lake is a popular tourist destination. Three trail junctions are located here and there is an open-air stage next to the shore. The forest railway of Felsőtarkany starts near the lake.
The forest lake is located about 600 m away from our hotel, the Rock spring about 1,000 m away and our guests can walk there on the forest path.

Forest railway and the Bükk Plateau
The forest railway of Felsőtarkany can be found in the Bukk Mountains, not far from Eger, in the northern direction. The first railway line was laid down in 1915 at 760 mm, due to the increased transportation needs of logging. Before starting a trip from the Boiler-house station, it is worth visiting the Rock spring situated in the park near the lake. The water of the Rock spring was dammed to create a lake, which now serves as a popular tourist destination. You may enjoy spending some time at the station and visit the historical vehicles displayed there. There is a small wildlife park at the station of the Egeres Valley Sewing House, where sweet animals can be seen. The Sewing House is also the starting point of tourist trails. There are fire pits and a sports court at the Stimecz House terminal. It is also the starting and finishing point of the 1.5 km long Voroskő (Red Stone) Valley forest trail including 21 information boards about tree and animal species, the values and the beauty of the Bukk. In addition to the colorful information boards, the tree species can be recognized using the small boards placed near the trees. The thorough study of the boards will not take more than three hours. This area is also famous for its Voroskő (Red Stone) spring, which “operates” after snow-melts and bigger rainfalls, and its water gushes into 1.5 m height like a fountain. It may operate beyond the official period in case of good weather. Extra trains can be ordered any time in case of good weather. Please inquire at the Reception about the official train schedules.

Western Gate Educational and Visitors Center
The Center is located on the shore of Lake Felsőtarkany. It awaits the visitors with permanent and temporary exhibitions. During the exhibition, you can go back to more than 300 million years, while we can imagine descending into the caves inside the mountain, admire the valleys rich in springs, imagine climbing up the steep ridges of the Bukk and see the Bukk Plateau’s rich flora and fauna of the mountain meadows created through human intervention. Ask the receptionist for information on the opening hours!

Horse riding
Karap Riding Farm: the horse school is located at the foot of the Bukk National Park, in forest environment. Address: 92. Ady E. Street, Felsőtarkany. Guided country riding and riding lessons are offered in the openair riding area and the covered riding hall, and in the fields. The specialties of the horse farm are coutryside riding and kids’ training from 3 years. Matyus Riding Farm: the biggest horse farm of the region is situated about 15 km far from our hotel, between Eger and Noszvaj. It awaits its visitors with many riding programs, recreational and riding opportunities. Please note that all the programs can be attended at your own risk.

Felsőtárkány – Inter-Stone Trail

The departure point is located in the north-eastern part of Felsőtarkany, next to the lake (next to the BNPI Education and Visitor Centre).
Th eInter-Stone part of the “three rounds” trail of Felsőtarkany was created near the Bukk National Park Western Gate Education and Visitor Centre. During this short trip, we can visit the Rock spring and the limestone cliff above, the so-called inter-stone rocky gorge below and the lake.

Felsőtárkány – Vöröskő (Red Stone) Valley Forest Trail

The starting point is the board of the study trail, situated at the Stimecz House, which is also the terminal point of the Felsőtarkany Forestry’s Forest Railway. This special study trail was created at the terminal point of the 5-km-long forest railway, which introduces the flora and fauna of the mountains using 21 colorful boards. Each board shows four plant and animal species in general, therefore the study trail can be regarded as a useful plant and animal guide in nature. The boards describe the tree species the mushrooms, the bushes, the birds, the game animals and the no longer up-to-date geological features of the Bukk Mountains.

Felsőtárkány – Barat Meadow Trail

The departure point is located at the lake, in the north-eastern part of Felsőtarkany village (next to the BNPI Education and Visitor Centre). It starts at the eastern part of the Inter-Stone. Please follow the yellow-signed hiking trail to reach the Oldal Valley, then go to the other side of the road. From the ruins of a Carthusian monastery, a steep path will lead you to Bujdoso Stone, which pops up near the Lok Crag. Steep limestone cliffs tower above the linden and ash forests, intertwined into Jurassic shale and radiolarite stones.

Felsőtárkány – Castle Hill Trail
4.5 hours, 10 km, hiking

It starts from the lake, in the north-eastern part of Felsőtarkany (next to the BNPI Education and Visitor Centre), and from the Park Hotel Taltos situating next to our hotel. The study trail takes you up to the ridge of the Castle Hill from the Bukk National Park Western Gate Educational and Visitor Centre. The length of the trail is about 10 km from the start of the Inter-stone (to and back), and the walk takes about 4-5 hours. The route introduces many different geological formations (dolomite mine, radiolarite rocks), the flora and the fauna of the hornbeam, the oak, the sub-mountainy beech and the sloping linden forests, as well as a late bronze-age fortress, the Kyjatice culture’s earth fortress.

VIA ferrata
Upper Dragon Heves county’s first via ferrata track at the gate of Bükk. The Via Ferrata equipment rental was established on the pavilion on the shore of the lake, where, in addition to the rental of professional equipment manufactured by the French company Petzl, they are available with professional advice and tour guidance. Walking from the rental office across the highway, the via ferrata starts from the parking lot next to the restaurant, on which exciting traverses (horizontal or inclined movement), climbs and descents, and a 23 m long suspension bridge make the experience unforgettable. The route of the track offers the opportunity to observe the wildlife living on the rock walls, and in addition to all this, we can also enjoy the eye-catching panorama.
