Meerkat and wallaby families
Bambara would not be the same place without them, they are so close to our hearts. It is certainly no secret that they are our guests’ favourite pets too, and they can follow their lives 24 hours a day.
The Bambara meerkats are the funniest members of our Hotel’s “staff”. They live in the meerkat courtyard with an inner atrium, and when we approach the glass walls, they immediately stand up curiously, and their inquisitive gaze seems to say, “Look, who has come to visit us? Let us take a closer look!” They entertain our guests all day and, of course, put a smile on everyone’s faces, whether young or a bit older.
For those who do not know them, we reveal that these little masters of fun belong to the mongoose family, and their name comes from the Swahili language, and means cliff cat. It is one of the most charismatic small mammals. The meerkat lives in Africa, in deserts, semi-deserts, and in grasslands. It is an interesting fact that the black spot around its eyes serves to counteract the blinding effect of the sun.
It is a sociable animal, lives in groups, and one member of the team is constantly on guard. When it stands on its two hind legs, it is actually on a lookout to provide peace and safety for the group.
However, we also have another love bomb, the tiny wallaby (Bennett’s wallaby). They are funny and friendly, and the children love them. . This lovely little animal, which can reach 76 to 92 centimetres, originally lives in the airy eucalyptus forests of Australia.
Come and meet them!
